FAQ

Clear answers for teachers using ClassShuffle.

What does ClassShuffle do?

ClassShuffle helps teachers create random classroom groups, present them clearly, and save class-specific grouping preferences.

How is ClassShuffle different from a basic random group generator?

It lets teachers keep randomness while still using classroom controls like separation rules, support pairings, and front-of-room seating priorities.

Do students need accounts?

No. Students do not sign in or create accounts. Teachers manage the class information.

What student information can teachers enter?

Teachers can enter student names or display names, class names, grouping preferences, front-of-room needs, support pairings, separation rules, and saved groups.

Does ClassShuffle sell student data?

No. ClassShuffle does not sell student data.

Is student information used for advertising?

No. ClassShuffle does not use student information for advertising.

Can teachers export their information?

Yes. Teachers can export a backup of their ClassShuffle data from inside the app.

Can teachers delete their information?

Yes. Teachers can delete class data or request account and data deletion. Deletion may not remove temporary service-provider backups immediately.

Can I cancel my subscription at any time?

Yes. Active subscribers can manage or cancel through the Stripe customer portal from the signed-in app.

Does the subscription automatically renew?

Yes. Paid subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled. Stripe shows the billing details before payment.

What happens when the free trial ends?

If there is no active paid subscription, the account returns to the Free plan. Saved classes and settings are not deleted, but Pro-only access may be locked.

What happens after I cancel?

Stripe shows the access period. Pro access continues only for the period shown there, then the account returns to the Free plan.

What happens when I delete my account?

Account deletion may remove classes, student names, grouping preferences, saved groups, seating arrangements, separation rules, support pairings, front-of-room preferences, account settings, and paid-feature access.

Does my school or district need to approve ClassShuffle?

Schools and districts set their own technology rules. Teachers should follow their local approval process before using ClassShuffle with student information.

How do separation rules work?

A separation rule tells ClassShuffle to try to avoid placing two selected students in the same group.

How do support pairings work?

A support pairing tells ClassShuffle to try to place two selected students together when possible.

How does front-of-room seating work?

Teachers can mark students who should be prioritized for front-of-room locations when groups are dealt.

What happens when two grouping rules conflict?

ClassShuffle makes a best effort. If preferences conflict or cannot all be satisfied, the teacher may need to adjust the groups manually.

What happens when ClassShuffle cannot satisfy every rule?

The app still creates groups and gives the teacher controls to adjust the result.

How can I report a problem or suggest an improvement?

Use the support link below. Teacher feedback helps shape future improvements, but not every requested feature can be promised.
